Arjun Rampal: Biography

Arjun Rampal was discovered in a Discotheque by ace designer Rohit Bal. His previous girlfriend was Malini Ramani - daughter of the celebrated socialite Bina Ramani.

He has recently married Indian Supermodel Mehr Jessia.

He was proclaimed Societys Face of the year, 1994. He was initially keen to make a career internationally. He realized once he was abroad that the modeling scene was not very conducive,as the front line-up of male models were in the age bracket of 17 to 21 years and according to him it would have taken him at least couple of years to make it big.

He felt that being abroad helped him mature as a professional and made him aware of lot of things he wouldnt have learnt otherwise. He always wanted to settle in India.

He says"Two years ago, while I was shooting for an ad film -Monte Carlo, I met Ashok Mehta. He expressed his desire to work with me for his directorial debut."

He read the script almost eight times before he decided to give it a shot. He says he wanted to study film-making, when he was in London, but things did not happen that way.

He's been to an acting school for just 15 days, he says "Basically to get rid of my inhibitions. It really helped me loosen up and be totally relaxed in front of the camera because as a model you tend to be very stiff and preoccupied with angles."

Arjun Rampal Says, He wasn't intrested in films, but when Rajiv was about to start Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat... He approached him for a role, there were three heroes but he didn't care which one he played .... just wanted to be included in the project.

Arjun gave up modeling as he wanted to concentrate on movies, but it took four year for his first film to release.

Arjun is married to Mehr Jessia, he says Mehr has changed him, he is happy and relaxed now. Marriage happned at the right time and he was mentaly prepared for it and marriage has had positive effect on his life.

He is all geared up to take our very own tinsel-town by storm with his two prestigious films his working on - Ashok Mehta’s Moksha opposite Manisha Koirala and Shantanu Sheorey’s Jadh co-starring Jackie Shroff and Smriti Mishra.

Though many of his films have yet to be released there is much talk about his acting capabilities and that he will be next big news in filmdom.

What Makes Him So Hot: His Good Looks, his Professionalism. His recent movie Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat did not do well on the box office but the industry has noticed that he is a good actor. His acting is too good, he has left his impact even after the movie did not do well.
