Ancient Arabic literature classifies love into seven different shades...
HUB...their eyes meet, it's like a touch... a spark... Attraction
UNS...the touch of the eyes was as if, it was Infatuation...
ISHQ...the flame of her body is felt, his breath starts igniting... Love...
AQIDAT...Reverence... she touches him like a whisper, as if silence is mixed in her eyes... he prays, knelt down on the floor, a little consciously and a little Unconsciously...
IBADAAT...he is entangled on her path, entangled in her arms... Love turns to Worship.
Junoon...his living is an Obsession... his dying is an Obsession... apart from this there is no peace...
MAUT...let him rest in the lap of Death... let him drown his body in her soul...

Dil Se.. a journey through these seven shades....

Dil Se is Mani Ratnam's first hindi film, and because of his previous success in south indian movies, it is expected to do pretty good. The stars of this movie, shahhrukh and manisha are coming together for the second time after Guddu, which was a flop. Shahrukh's last movie Duplicate also didn't do as good as expected, so he is always hoping to rebound from this movie.

The Music by A.R. Rahman is outstanding as always, lyrics is by Gulzar. The first song of the album is Chaiyya Chaiyya sung by sukhwinder and sapna awasthi. There is also a punjabi version of the same song, Thayya Thayya also sung by sukhwinder singh.

The second number is sung by our favorite, Lata Mangeshkar, and the song is Jiya Jale.

Title song, DIL SE,  is sung by A. R. Rahman himself, and every word of it will touch your heart.

STORY OF DIL SE

Shahrukh is a journalist for All India Radio......and his job required him to go to Shimla to do the reporting on the terrorists or separists there, who want their own nation................ Movie started on a train station, where Shahrukh (Amar),  falls in love with Manisha (Meghna) .......it was a love in first sight for Shahrukh......but Manisha doesn't like him....or atleast pretends that she doesn't like him..........Shahrukh even got beat up by Manisha's so called brothers, but still wouldn't stop thinking about her.......Manisha did everything to get rid of Shahrukh.....even lied to him that she is married.....but he still didn't leave her alone..........Once they ended up on a bus together.......and bus stopped working as they were passing by a desert..........and there Shahrukh tried his best to make her admit that she loves him too......but while he was sleeping, she left a note on the sands saying ..."Kuch log rait pe likhe naamon ki tarah hote hain, Hawa ka ek hi jhatka jinhe ura deta hai", and left for the city.......Shahrukh went back to that same town, which is his hometown.........and there he meets this new girl who his parents are trying to arrange to marry him......Since Manisha never admitted her love for him......Shahrukh decides to marry this new girl.........and on the day of the engagement, Manisha shows up again asking him for a job and a place to live, because she got kicked out of her house in that city, and now she couldn't even go back to her village.......so Shahrukh lets her stay in one of the room, and gets her a job with All Indian Radio............Shahrukh was wondering how come Manisha came back herself, and why she is still hiding alot of stuff from him.......and after he got arrested by CBI once, for following one of Manisha's friend, who was a terrorist, he became even more suspicious about Manisha.....and after going through her stuff, he finds out that she belongs to a terrorist group too......Shahrukh was still in love with Manisha, so he tries to convince her to run away with him, that way he will get his love, and she could get away from all the terrorist activities........But instead, Manisha made a plan with her terrorist group to bomb on one of the 50th independence day celebration through suicide .......Shahrukh some how finds that out and goes after Manisha to stop her from doing so.......by that time, Manisha was dressed up in a special suit that carried alot of explosives........Shahrukh got there before she was leaving........ and threatens her that he will hug her, that way the explosives on her body will explode, if she doesn't tell her if she loves her not.....and that made Manisha admit her love for him........ but she still wouldn't leave her terrorist group and go with Shahrukh.......and decides to carry on her operation, on which, Shahrukh tells her that if she wants to go somewhere, they will go together.....and hugs her hard, resulting in a big explosion..... which took both their lives....and they ended up together forever ...................................
